CHRISTMAS AUCTION

The Christmas Auction is a fundraiser that gives everyone in Del Norte a rare chance to dress up. The festivities include food, wine & beer "on the house," and plenty of merriment. Auctioned goods and services featured in the past have included hand-made jewelry, goods from local businesses, fly-fishing lessons, remote cabin vacations, a small-plane flight with a local pilot, and gourmet ethnic dinners prepared by locals. This event is typically held the first Saturday in December after the Merchant Open House and Parade of Lights. It's a great place to find Christmas gifts.

The event originated with the Windsor Board and helped to raise funds to build the Rio Grande Hospital. In 2006 the proceeds went to fund the Ruth Marie Center and the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. For the 2010 event, the La Vereda board teamed up with the Del Norte Chamber of Commerce Caboose Fund and the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust.
